Daniel Barnum lives in Philadelphia. They completed their undergraduate studies in Film/Media at Bucknell University, and received their MFA from the Ohio State University. Daniel's writing has received grant and fellowship support from the Stadler Center for Poetry, the Philadelphia Office of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Kettle Pond Writers' Conference, and Sewanee Writers' Conference. They have served as an editorial assistant at West Branch, as poetry editor for The White Elephant, and as the managing editor of The Journal. Currently, they are an editor at Poetry Online. Their debut chapbook, Names for Animals, was the 2020 Robin Becker Prize selection from Seven Kitchens Press, and won the New England Poetry Club's Jean Pedrick Chapbook Prize in 2022. In 2023, their full-length manuscript was a finalist in the National Poetry Series. |
